The color of wealth

Our friends at the NC Justice Center are hosting a series of events next week in North Carolina. The forums will feature Meizhu Lui of United for a Fair Economy, an excellent group that examines the growing wealth divide (they've also taken a leading role in preserving the Estate Tax).

Meizhu has recently co-authored "The Color of Wealth," which looks at how federal policy exacerbates the racial economic divide, "putting white families on an escalator to asset ownership while keeping people of color stuck on an economic treadmill."

If you're in one of these locations, come listen to Meizhu and the Justice Center talk about these important issues:

Fayetteville - Tuesday, September 12 at 7 p.m.
First Christian Church
1505 Bragg Rd.
Co-sponsor: Fayetteville Peace and Justice

Raleigh - Wednesday, September 13 at 7 p.m.
Book Signing at Quail Ridge Books & Music
3522 Wade Avenue (in the Ridgewood Shopping Center)

Wilmington - Thursday, September 14 at 6:30 p.m.
The Old Firehouse, 602 South Fifth Avenue
Co-sponsors: Grassroots Leadership, OutWIlmington, and the SE NC Central Labor Council

Chris,
Thanks so much for your support. We're really looking forward to having Meizhu in NC this week. If you've heard her speak before, you know she's a dynamic presenter. Her new book, The Color of Wealth, is a real eye-opener. Every person who says affirmative action is unfair needs to read this book. Whites in America have enjoyed affirmative action since the Pilgrims landed!

Thanks again,
Diane Morris
