Southern governor watch

How popular is your governor? Survey USA released its periodic ranking of "net job approval" for all 50 governors on April 12. Here's how the Southerners stacked up:
RANK/NAME/NET JOB APPROVAL

2. Joe Manchin (D-WV), 57%
14. Sonny Perdue (R-GA), 25%
19. Tim Kaine (D-VA), 22%
20. Mike Huckabee (R-AR), 21%
21. Phil Bredesen (D-TN), 18%
23. Jeb Bush (R-FL), 14%
24. Haley Barbour (R-MS), 13%
28. Bob Riley (R-AL), 9%
28. Mike Easley (D-NC), 9%
30. Mark Sanford (R-SC), 8%
35. Rick Perry (R-TX), 2%
42. Ernie Fletcher (R-KY), -19%
46. Kathleen Blanco (D-LA), -26%
Pretty much a wash on the partisan scale, providing further evidence that the Democrats are far from dead in the South. How about that Joe Manchin?

Not necessarily a wash: the average Dem approval rating is 16, whereas for Repubs it's 7.5.

I don't think it's a wash either. It shows that most folks in the South are dissatisified with their governors.
