Public land sale follow up...

As a follow up to Chris's post yesterday about the Bush administration's Spring Clearance Sale of National Forest land, blogger Steve at WhitesCreek Journal has uncovered something completely outrageous. He also has a link to a state-by-state breakdown of the public land Bush proposes to sell off.

Shame on those who wish to sell of land that was placed in public trust years ago. No government should be allowed to sell public land for the promotion of private interest. Why not sell all the great landmarks of Washington D. C. ? These lands are as important to many people as Washington D. C. 's great monuments.
